I was driving Ellie home from nursery and she asks "Mummy have you done wind?" - I said "No, Have you?". She then says "Has Daddy done wind at work?". About an hour later I call her Daddy at work, she grabs the phone of me and says "Daddy have you done wind?" I couldn't stop laughing and completely forgot what I had phoned up to ask.

Austin did a classic embarrassing toddler one this week... we were walking along the street behind one of the council litter pickers, and Austin asked 'What's that man doing?' so I said he was picking up all the rubbish from the floor, and Austin came out with 'Oh. He's a VERY DIRTY man!'!!! Really loud as well. I was trying to explain that it was his job, and he was a good man because he's making the streets tidy, but Austin kept insisting he was dirty. I was so embarrassed!

I guess that's what you get for telling your toddler it's dirty to pick rubbish up off the floor!

Just remembered i have two really funny ones from the weekend.
We were on the bus and Hayden asked really loudly in front of this bald bloke
"Mummy what happened to that man did the wind blow his hair away?"
Luckily the bloke found it really funny..phew!

And on the bus again, different journey he saw a man that looked like my uncle Trevor, the man was talking to Hayden and when his stop came he said bye, Hayden said "Bye bye Uncle Trev..love you"

    Bless him!

Cheering for the dating thread ladies!

The other day I was playing that Play your cards right game on the whiteboard at school and if you turn all the cards over it "allocates" you a prize depending on your points. Anyway one of the prizes they "won" was a fondue pot. We played it again and a lad said "Ohh I bet we win one of those condom pots again!"

Another thing that made me chuckle was an exercise we were doing in literacy making up new words so we took a prefix such as dis or mis or anti or un and added it to a made up word- the boy happened to choose floppi and then added a suffix like ly or fy or ful and he ended up with disfloppify. When I asked him what it meant he said "It means to make something go hard from being floppy" - totally innocently but when he realised what he had said found it hilarious but didn't want to make too much of a fuss about it because he thought I would tell him off

Another child (once upon a time!) said "Miss how do you spell f**k?" and we were
"Yes," she said, "I want to spell Norfolk,"

This thread is great, love it!

The other day we were waiting out side for something or other and oran was sat cross legged, head in hands staring at flowers so I asked him what he was doing

Oran : "Look Mummy Bees, eating flowers"
me : "Why are they eating the flowers"
Oran : "they take to bee house for honey"
me "oh thats very clever isnt it, why do they make honey, for mummy?"
Oran : [dirtiest look at me] "Nooooo for Winnie Poooooooo"

A few days earlier we went for a walk and a horse had poo'd on the road

    Oran : "mummy, whas dis?"
    Me : "its horses poo"
Oran : "Why...[thinks]....no horses poo poo on floor no"
Me : "No horses poo on floor, why not?"
Oran : [Quite crossly lol] "No Horses poo poo on floor, horses poo poo on toilet, naughty horsey poo poo on floor"

Even now 2 weeks later when we walk past that bit of road even though the poo has gone he states every time "naughty horseys, no sticker"

    Thought I'd resurrect this

    Austin's latests:

A: 'Mummy the fish are broken'
    Me: 'Why are they broken?'
    A: 'They're swimming too slowly'
Me: 'Oh dear, how can we fix them?'
A: 'They've run out of petrol. Let's give them some more petrol.'
    Me: 'Err...'

    ***********
Me: Can you walk a bit more quickly please?
    A: No
    Me: Why not?
    A: Because I'm a crab

    ***********
    And today:

'I'm not kicking Fraser, I'm putting my foot on him to stop him blowing away in the wind'

I love the things kids say. Most of my peaches are from kids I work with. One came out with gems regularly when I was pregnant. Other teacher walks in (she's about twice the size of me so not small) and little girl says...

"My teacher's fat like you too, but at least she's pregnant."

I wished the ground would swallow me up. Same child (age 7 at the time, I have her again now she's 9) also said:

    "Who ye pregnant by, Miss?"
"I'm not going to be sad when you leave. I'm going to be thinking of you going <insert panting noises here> pushing that baby out"

Another child also said when I came back "So ye had yer wean then Miss? God that must have hurt pushing that out."
